Jarmo Kallunki is a sociologist whose research focuses on social inequality, social and cultural stratification, education, youth, and political sociology. Drawing on comparative and mixed methods approaches, his work examines class, recognition, identity, and the experiences of working-class youth, with particular attention to how educational institutions and broader social structures shape opportunities and belonging. He is an Academy Research Fellow at Tampere University in Finland, funded by the Research Council of Finland, and he received his PhD in Sociology from Tampere University.

**Research Interests:** Cultural stratification; sociology of recognition; social class; intergenerational inequalities; sociology of education; and education policy and politics.
