Maha Marouan is a Moroccan writer and scholar at Pennsylvania State University. She is the author of Witches, Goddesses, and Angry Spirits: The Politics of Spiritual Liberation in African Diaspora Women’s Fiction and documentary maker of Voices of Muslim Women from the US South. Her latest publications include “Shame,” a short story with the Boston Review (Nominated for the 2020 PEN America Short Story Literary Award).
