Erik van der Marel
Erik van der Marel is Chief Economist at the European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE) in Brussels, an Associate Professor at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and a Visiting Professor at the College of Europe. His work focuses on international political economy, digital trade, technology policy, globalization, and the governance of cross-border data and knowledge flows. In addition to his research and teaching, he is a senior consultant to the World Bank and has advised governments and international organizations on trade, digital economy, and regulatory policy. He received his PhD in International Economics from Sciences Po Paris.
