Jeannie Sowers is a political scientist whose research focuses on the comparative politics and international relations of the Middle East, with particular emphasis on environmental politics, climate change, conflict, infrastructure, and humanitarian crises. Her work examines the intersections of war, environmental vulnerability, resource governance, and state-society relations across the Middle East and North Africa. She is Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at the University of New Hampshire and received her PhD in Politics from Princeton University.
Research Interests: Political and environmental change in the Middle East and North Africa; and impacts of war on civilians and environments.
