Lorenzo Formenti is an economist and independent consultant who works with policymakers, international organizations, and businesses to address sustainability challenges in global supply chains. His research focuses on international trade, environmental sustainability, and the circular economy, with expertise in how trade policy can support the diffusion of environmental technologies in developing countries. He has held positions with UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the International Trade Centre (ITC), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). 

Research Interests: International trade and development; trade and environment; environmental technology diffusion; circular economy; climate action; and supply chain sustainability.
