Nathalie Peutz is an anthropologist whose research focuses on forced migration, displacement, climate change, environmental conservation, cultural heritage, and development, with particular expertise in Yemen, the Arabian Peninsula, and the Horn of Africa. Drawing on ethnographic and historical methods, her work examines migration, mobility and immobility, environmental change, and the social consequences of conflict and displacement. She is Associate Professor of Arab Crossroads Studies and Anthropology at New York University Abu Dhabi and received her PhD in Anthropology from Princeton University in 2009. Her book Islands of Heritage: Conservation and Transformation in Yemen received the 2019 Middle East Section Book Award of the American Anthropological Association.
